Buddhism in Dialogue with Contemporary Societies
Is Buddhism still relevant for today’s world?” This is one of many questions which were discussed at the BDCS conference which took place at the Museum für Völkerkunde in Hamburg from 20th to 22nd of June 2018. More than 200 scientists, well-known Buddhist speakers and participants of 14 countries intensively exchanged their knowledge and opinions on the ongoing encounter between Buddhism and contemporary Western societies. In addition, the Dalai Lama sent his greetings and prayers to the conference participants for fruitful and enriching discussions. The conference, which was held in English, was a complete success for all parties.

„Working with the team of Uni Marketing has been very efficient, constructive, engaging and pleasurable throughout. For budgetary reasons we could not afford the full range of the services, but we would not hesitate to plan that for a next conference of this size. It is a great relief if you can entirely focus on the content preparation and the invitation of speakers, etc. Many participants of the conference complimented on the professionalism of the entire team. A big relief was their competent full-service-support (registration, billing, management of the conference fees, hotel handling and on-site support on the day of arrival). We can warmly and confidently recommend the team of conference management.”
– Dr. Carola Roloff, visiting professor of the Akademie der Weltreligionen at the Universität Hamburg and project manager of the BDCS conference
